Geophysical Surveys

Geophysical survey is a cost-effective, non-intrusive and relatively quick way of detecting and assessing sub- surface features. ISGPL has developed in-house testing capabilities in geophysics to effectively complement conventional geotechnics for determination of dynamic soil properties, detecting utilities and voids, site characterization, landslide evaluation, etc.

  • Down-Hole Seismic test (DHST)
  • Cross-Hole Seismic test (CHST)
  • Electrical resistivity imaging (ERI) and tomography
  • Ground-penetrating radar (GPR)

Laboratory Testing

ISGPL has a fully-fledged geotechnical laboratory with facilities for testing soil, rock and groundwater samples. Our laboratory team members are well-trained to handle the state-of-art testing equipment. We can also provide on-site laboratory services for major projects.

We are committed to providing reliable and accurate test results to our customers, along with technically correct interpretations. As a part of this effort, our laboratory is accredited to the National Accreditation Board for Laboratories (NABL) This is a recognition that the quality procedures in our laboratory conform to the International Standard ISO/IEC 17025-2017. This assures our clients of work quality in accordance with international norms and authorizes us to use the NABL Logo on test results.

We have in-house facilities to carry out the following laboratory tests:

Foundation Testing

Pile foundation is a substructure working underneath the ground surface. We don’t often pay attention to its existence when it is transferring loads from a structure to the soil or bedrock safely and as planned. However, possible shortcomings in the pile design or implementation are easy to observe when settlement occurs. Unfortunately, at this point, correcting those shortcomings are already too late or at the very least, expensive.

A comprehensive testing program is critical to the successful performance of deep foundations. ISGPL provides the complete range of high-end pile testing services that are critical in verifying foundation design parameters and communicating corrective actions as required.

  • Static Pile Load tests up to 3000 MT test load using kentledge, anchor or load-frame method
  • Pullout and Lateral Pile Load Tests
  • High-strain Dynamic Pille Testing using 8-channel PDA equipment for fast, reliable and cost effective evaluation of foundation bearing capacity and structural integrity
  • Bi-directional static load tests (BDSLT) using hydraulically driven, high capacity, sacrificial pressure cell, pre-installed into the test pile
  • Instrumented Static Pile Load Tests using embedded strain gauges and extensometers
  • Footing load tests using our own, customized load frame arrangement
  • Parallel Seismic Tests for determining unknown foundation depth
  • Cross-hole Sonic Logging tests (CSL) to assess the structural integrity of drilled shafts/bored piles and diaphragm walls
  • Low-strain Pile Integrity tests to quickly assess structural integrity and length of all types of piles

Since we are qualified Geotechnical Engineers, we are fully capable of not just carrying out the tests, but also validating the test results technically and correlating them to the strata conditions.
